Richard M. Dolejs is the fourth generation to own Dolejs Realty & Management Services, Inc. He began in fifth grade when he was assigned janitorial and landscaping tasks at various buildings in Lyons, Illinois. He graduated from Morton West High School as their Senior Class President. After majoring in Philosophy at Grand Valley State University and learning the office side of property management during spring, winter and summer breaks. When it was time to start a family, he worked fifty plus hours a week for decades, learning all the ins and outs of property management and real estate. He is fully licensed and accredited to handle any and all of your property management needs, as a Managing Broker and Community Association Manager. He uses the latest technologies and applications to keep the business running smoothly and efficiently. He has automated much of the more time consuming work (accountings, notices, billing) so that more time can be spent on site at your properties to ensure proper landscaping, janitorial and maintenance.
His two eldest sons, Gregory and Jacob are now the fifth generation to enter the family business which began in 1890 with Mateus (Mike) Dolejs buying, rehabbing and renting income properties. In 1901, he built a commercial property with apartments at the corner of Troy and 26th Street in what is now Little Village. His son, Andrew M., continued managing the considerable amount of rental property acquired by his father. He bought, rehabbed and rented additional properties, which he managed with the help of his wife, Marie. Upon her death, their son, Richard A. Dolejs, took over and opened an office at 3147 W. 26th Street in the building his grandfather built. Expanding into the insurance and real estate sales industries, he was active in community organizations, such as President of the Real Estate Board, the Chamber of Commerce and Community Council. He and his wife, Patricia, were instrumental in renaming South Lawndale to present day Little Village.
